“We are building a world full of persistent and evolving zones where players create their own journey with each run they take. This could mean an unforgettable shootout against another team competing for the same loot, or a last-second extraction while surrounded on all sides,” said game director Christopher Barrett.
He also offered another example where a team might discover an artifact that opens up a new map for players to explore based on the current Marathon season. “In essence, we are creating a game where player actions can have ramifications for the world and for players with each unfolding season.”
Until now, it is not clear how many different game modes Marathon will have. All we know is that it will be a PvP experience where other players’ decisions can affect what happens in their game during a given season.
